Lisa Einstein

Lisa Einstein is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) first Chief AI Officer, where she leads efforts to responsibly adopt AI to strengthen cybersecurity and protect U.S. critical infrastructure from emerging risks. She previously served as Senior Advisor for AI and Executive Director of CISA’s Cybersecurity Advisory Committee, helping develop the agency’s AI Roadmap to promote beneficial AI use while mitigating threats.

Einstein is also a part-time research advisor at Stanford’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory and holds dual master’s degrees from Stanford in computer science (AI) and international policy (cybersecurity). There, she led research on emerging technologies and co-developed early AI speech recognition models for West African languages. She also helped organize a global virtual coding course reaching 22,000 students across 148 countries.

Earlier, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea, she taught physics to over 600 students and co-founded an NGO supporting girls’ education. She earned her BA in physics and dance from Princeton and previously danced professionally.
