Creating Conversational Interfaces to Recontextualize Security Work

Richard Seymour

Information security has preeminent experts working in various modalities from big data platforms, scripting languages and management consoles. If they are lucky a user will have time to be trained on a new system or product before being thrust into a possible incident. If not they are on their own to figure it out as they go along. We have proposed a better way for users to dive into the complex domain of infosec and the complex tooling around it through a conversational chatbot style interface. In this talk, I’ll explain how to make a conversational interface from natural language understanding basics, to connecting to services, to building responses to users. The hope is to get people started thinking about how they can turn difficult tasks into safer tools for everyone.
